Last night Alice, Product Matt and I went to a club in Friedrichshain called Rosi’s to do a little “research”. On Thursdays the DJs play a mix of mostly American and British “Indie Pop” and we felt totally at home with a hundred of our closest German strangerfriends.
Berlin.Unlike (an excellent and comprehensive city guide) describes Rosi’s as “the sort of place East Berlin seemed to be full of in the mid-1990s: a former industrial space decorated with furniture from Treptower Park and dubious graffiti, and an unpretentious, laissez-faire vibe. Music is provided by live acts and DJs, and veers between indie, punk and electro to Balkan beats, purist techno, dancehall and alt-cabaret.”
We had a great night, and in true Berliner fashion, stayed out so late the trains started running again (4:30AM). We crawled into bed as the sun came up, after 4+ hours of dancing, and I thought to myself “Boy, this class is a lot of work.”

Here we go, peeps — this is what I’ve been talking about all along.
I’m expecting you guys to take me out when I come to visit.
The music group is hitting the clubs in full force; more dancing than sleeping. Tonight’s goal is to stay out until the Berliners start heading home, and I’m sure our stamina will let us show you a good time when you pass back through.
