Eliasson’s Urban Invasion

EliassonBikeS

Early in March when I was setting up the Berlin studio I saw a bike with mirrored wheels leaning at a tree on Torstrasse. Little did I know that it belonged to a series of urban interventions by Olafur Eliasson, pointing at his first solo exhibition in Berlin called Inner City Out.

The show in the Martin Gropius Bau is equally amazing, I raced through it on a very crowded day (Vatertag) and just had to do some spy shots. Above is the center courtyard with a mirrored inverted pyramid installation.

The show’s grand finale is a sequence of fog-filled rooms that are transformed into immersive color spaces.

Bathing in pure color never felt this good before…

And one more just to complete the color spectrum. Stay tuned for more impressions from this amazing show by Amelia.
