Although not technically a graphic designer, this week I’m featuring Sun Ra. Sun Ra, aka Herman Poole Blount, was prolific jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, poet and philosopher known for his “cosmic philosophy,” musical compositions and performances. In addition to all of this he designed his own covers. I first heard about Sun Ra when looking through Print Magazine. These images are scans from that issue. I Didn’t find a website that has all of his covers on it, but his beautiful work is definitely worth checking out.
